Endorsed by President Trump: what does God expect?
From the episode
What is the significance of being endorsed by President Trump from a biblical perspective? Christians whom I know say something like this: “My Bible won’t permit me to support a man like that!”
What would God expect us to do under these circumstances?
But how about King David? We know that David was an adulterer, a murderer, and a liar; but he also faithfully served God with all his heart.
However, Jesus gives us guidelines for how to “know” false prophets and good or evil men: “You will know them by their fruits.”
No other American president has done anything close – other than President Harry Truman.
If I as a Marine officer, ever told my men: I know who the enemy is. But I won't tell you. I know how many there are. But I won't tell you. I know where they are. But I won't tell you. I know what their plans are. But I won't tell you. Oh, by the way, you're on your own. I'm not going with you. Of what offenses am I guilty?
The solution: get rid of your 501(c)(3) corporations! There are other corporate forms. Leave the prison that you have willingly entered. Quit tiptoeing through the 501(c)(3) minefield and do God's work as you know you should. Cast off your shackles.

0:18This is Veritas, and I'm Harris Himes, and it's good to be back with you. I wanted to add something to our last session because I think it's important for you and it's important for me to fulfill my obligation to the Lord to inform you that we have candidates for the Montana Supreme Court. Amy Eddy is known for her liberal and anti-God values. She can't be voted for.
On the other hand, Dan Wilson is supported by many of my Christian friends and should be voted for. Now, three have been endorsed by President Trump. Trump. What is the significance of being endorsed by President Trump? Some Christians I know have said something like this, my Bible won't permit me to support a man like that. But I reminded them that President Trump has been extremely friendly to Israel, to Jerusalem, and has been probably probably the most active pro-family and anti-abortion president we've ever had.
So I know that in the past, he's had problems. He's owned casinos. He's been, he's received a great deal of publicity as being a notorious philanderer. He was once pro-choice and then changed his mind. But I look at the man now, and I look at King David. King David was an adulterer, a murderer, and a liar. But he also faithfully served God with all his heart. He repented for his sins, and God forgave him. In fact, God called David a man after his own heart in 1 Samuel 13, 14. He made him king over Israel and Messiah would come from his line. I myself take great comfort in King David's example, for I have sinned in the same respects as David and I also have repented and been forgiven, and it is my deep desire to be called a man after God's own heart it.
3:19Jesus gives us guidelines for how to know false prophets and good or evil men. You will know them by their fruits. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, Jesus continues, nor can a bad tree bear good. Let me make a little correction there. The word for bad is ponēros. Ponēros actually means evil. What Jesus is saying is, a good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can an evil tree bear good fruit. I think that gives a more punch, some more punch to it, and I think that that really helps us to see the gravity of what's being spoken of. He goes on, every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. Well, if we're talking about good and evil, then you can understand why if a tree bears evil fruit, it should be thrown into the fire after it's cut down. Let's look at President Trump. What kind of fruit does he bear? What is the significance of his substantial support of Israel including recognizing Jerusalem as their capital and then placing our embassy in Jerusalem together with it with his loyalty to them even against world pressure to do otherwise. I've never understood what the problem was with moving the capital from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem but apparently every other president that has promised to do so was thwarted and succumbed to the pressure and then of course making Jerusalem the capital was a big deal and the Israelis applauded President Trump as they should have.
He and his administration have brokered significant peace treaties in the Middle East involving Israel, one with the United Arab Emirates and the other with Bahrain and Morocco and Sudan followed. No other president has done anything close, and I pause here, other than President Harry Truman. My wife and I recently attended a Vietnam tankers reunion in Kansas City. Since President Truman's library is in Independence, Missouri, we took a drive out one nice afternoon to visit it. There I took a picture of the original letter that President Truman signed, a press release of May 14th, 1948, approved at 6 11 p.m. That's 11 minutes after Israel declared itself a state. Truman recognized the new state of Israel with that statement.
6:47He had a whole bunch of pressure coming against him not to do anything like that. But you can see the letter and read it for yourself. There was no vote that made Israel a state and the UN had recommended partition the year before. Not statehood. You can now see the picture that will will be posted of that letter. As a result, President Trump has been nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize, and justifiably so. God values such efforts toward Israel and peace.
It shouldn't surprise us with the antipathy and antagonism for President Trump that he has not received the Nobel Peace Prize. I remember something about President Obama receiving the Peace Prize before he was even inaugurated or something like that. Just depends on your point of view. But why is this so important biblically that President Trump has helped Israel? Well, God makes it clear. He said to Abraham, this is before he became Abraham get out of your country from your family and from your father's house to a land that I will show you I will make you a great nation I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him who curses you and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
So, the significance is that because President Trump has blessed Israel, God has called him blessed and I will also point out that there are many people who have cursed Israel, many in the Democrat Party and God says he will curse them. Jesus goes on and says, blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. President Trump has absolutely proven himself to be an effective peacemaker. That makes him, as far as God is concerned, a son of God. So let's kind of sum it up and put it in perspective. Since President Trump has blessed Israel, then God has blessed him. Since President Trump is blessed also because he is a peacemaker, he shall be called a son of God.
9:41So I ask, how then can Christians not support someone whom God has blessed? Do you want to argue with God? Do you want to say, well, it's all right, God, you've blessed him and you've said that that means he's blessed, but I'm not going to accept that. I don't agree with that. You're saying, really, God, I don't agree with you. Should we dare to call evil someone whom God calls blessed and potentially a son of God? This is reminiscent of the situation with the apostle Peter when he was on the housetop in the city of Joppa and fell into a trance. Many of you remember this. He saw a vision of biblically unclean animals and was commanded to eat them.
Peter exclaimed, not so, Lord, for I have never eaten anything common or unclean. And Peter was told, what God has cleansed, you must not call common. That's the same thing with President Trump. Whom God has blessed, we must not call evil or not blessed. Whom God has called the Son of God, we must not call evil. Let's review again what President Trump has done for the unborn. And I'm quoting from the Susan B. Anthony list. They evaluate all the pro-family votes and the pro-life votes. President Trump stated, I am a pro-life, I am pro-life, and I will be appointing pro-life judges. President Trump not only reinstated the Mexico City policy on January 24th 25 2025.
On January 27th 2026 the administration released final rules under the broad Promoting Human Flourishing and Foreign Assistance, the PF, excuse me, the PHFFA policy which officially took effect on February 26th 2026. So the Mexico City policy basically allowed us to pay for abortions all over the world, and President Trump put an end to that also. Since we know that God hates hands that shed innocent blood in Proverb 617, which goes for for abortion clinics, you know, what are Christians to think about someone, indeed, a whole political party, which supports abortion up until the time of birth? Some Democrat states kill a living child even after a botched abortion.
12:55Conversely, it stands to reason that God loves those who protect innocent blood. If he hates those who shed it, that would include President Trump. Trump, again, should we not support someone whom God loves? So let's put that in the perspective of those people whom President Trump has endorsed. It's sufficient to say and significant to say with the huge electoral results that he had in the last election, he won by a landslide. Certainly, if somebody with that kind of popular and electoral support endorses somebody, that counts, but from God's standpoint, if he endorses someone, I submit to you that from a godly standpoint, that endorsement carries much more weight than the other. Now let's get back for a little bit to the dreaded 501c3.
This shackles the churches. If you endorse anyone, you lose your tax-exempt status. Many churches say nothing about politics because they've been scared away by this 501c3. They claim it's either not appropriate and or they don't want to offend anyone in their congregations. I've heard that sort of thing many times. Now let's consider, with regard to tax exemption, where is that in the Bible? For instance, we read in the book of Malachi, some call it the Italian Malachi, God accuses the Israelites and says they are robbing him by asking asking will a man rob God and God says yet you are robbing me. I see that Theo has graced us with his massive presence. He needs a little attention so I'll try to divide my attention here a little bit with your indulgence.
So when the people ask how they have robbed God, God responds in tithes and offerings. In verse 3 9 God says that the entire nation is under a curse because of their withholding required tithes and offerings and their unfaithfulness. In 3 10 God commands them to bring the whole tithe into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. God challenges the Israelites then to test him to see if God will open the windows of heaven and pour out an overwhelming blessing. Now pause here for a second and I'm going to play the attorney with you just a little bit. Consider those verses again. Do we see anything that they They will receive a tax exemption if they do so.
16:21Don't even have to answer that question. Theo's taking a time out because he doesn't want to be taxed. The Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 9-7. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Cheerful kind of means heartfelt pleasure or delight. Now let's look at that further. I ask again, does Paul say anything that would indicate that the cheerfulness is dependent upon a tax exemption? Are they going to chuckle all the way to their accountants? Does Paul say that you don't have to give unless there's a tax exemption? So where the church is getting off on all this kind of stuff, let's continue that.
Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6 24, no one can serve two masters for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. I ask, is the church serving God or is it serving mammon? Is it more interested in getting the money from donations that are given because people can have a write-off or is the church supposed to be doing what God requires? requires. We've read that in Ezekiel. We are too. Those of us in the church, those of us who are pastors, must, and I emphasize again, must warn those who are in danger, or their blood will be on our hands.
To do that, the church would have to enter the political forum, and they just shy away from it. On the other hand, should people who consider themselves Christians withhold their tithes and offerings if there is no tax exemption? Let me say that again. Should people who consider themselves Christians withhold their tithes and offerings if there is no tax exemption?
19:06Some pastors might say, it's election time, but I can't tell you whom to vote for. just follow biblical principle. Now I am a Marine officer. If I ever told my men, I know who the enemy is but I won't tell you, I know how many there are but I won't tell you, I know where they are but I won't tell you, I know what their plans are but I won't tell you, oh, by the way, you're on your own, I'm not going with you, and that officer knows that his men are vulnerable, they can be ambushed, they can be overwhelmed. And what offenses am I guilty of? Dereliction of duty, absolutely. Cowardice, without a doubt.
Treason, I think so. What should be done with such an officer? Publicly strip him of his rank, put the yellow stripe down the back of his uniform, prison, possible execution, probable execution. And yet that is exactly what a pastor is saying when he says simply, I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, just follow biblical principles principles. That sets you up to be ambushed when the enemy is at your door. I offer this obvious solution. Churches, pastors, get rid of your 501c3 corporations. There are many other types of corporations you can have. Veritas, the corporation that we have for this program, is not a 501c3. And as you can see, I hesitate not to talk about politics.
I hesitate not to tell you who and who not to vote for. I hesitate not to obey God. I will not have your blood on my hands. Churches, quit tiptoeing through the 501c3 minefield and do God's works as you know you should. Again, I say, cast off your shackles. Furthermore, remember the Chinese evangelist of the 20th century, Watchman Nee. He once said that America is a nation of beggars, speaking of the churches. On Veritas' webpage, we state that we are not a 501c3 although Montana considers us tax exempt and we don't ask for money although if anyone wants to take a stand with us they're more than welcome to do so and may God bless you.
22:30We're ending the program right now but I want to tell you what we're going to be doing next time. As a watchman I'm required to warn you of the threat of Islam that should be meaningful to all of you, and you need to recognize that as the threat it is. If this program has been worthwhile to you, please subscribe and pass it on to someone who should hear it. You can find Veritas every episode and more at veritas-truth.com. Thank you very much for joining us today, and may the Lord bless you.
